The conference „The European Fund for strategic Investment: what's in it for regions and cities ?" was an event organized by Committee of the regions, held in Jacques Delors building in Brussels on July 7th 2015.
The main goal of this lunchtime briefing was to introduce new investment plan for Europe. In next two years their plan is to mobilize 315 billion euros for additional investments. Local and regional authorities will play a big part in managing investment projects. During this briefing EFSI potential for local and regional stakeholders was presented.
The European Commission, DG for Regional and Urban Policy and JASPERS, Joint Assistance to Support Projects in European Regions, organized the Launch Event of the Guide to Cost-Benefit Analysis of Investment Projects at the Albert Borschette Congress Centre in Brussels on 2 July 2015.
The main goal was to present to key stakeholders the updated Guide to Cost-Benefit Analysis of Investment Projects to be financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund in the 2014-2020 programming period. It was also outline the major legislative, procedural and methodological changes related to major projects. The event was an opportunity for sharing information and for discussing approaches with key experts involved in updating the Guide.
National Day celebration and accession of Croatia in EU was held on June 29th 2015 in the academy of Sciences in Brussels.
Permanent representative of Croatia to the EU, Mato Škrabalo, opened the exhibition of photographs "Croatia from above" of author Davor Rostuhar in the building of Info Point Europa in Brussels. The exibition was initiated by the Ministr of foreign and european affairs and it was organized by permanent representation of Croatia in the European and Croatia house in cooperation with the main secretariat of the council and European Commission.
Soccer tournament was held too and it was organized by football club Croatia Bruxelles.
Partner meeting of Coral network was held in the building of representation of Baden-Württemberg province in Brussels on 25ht of June 2015.
The network of European regions CORAL is informal region community, with the goal to improve regional politics for active and healthy aging. That is the network of studying and creating cooperation in the process of innovations. The main goal of CORAL network is trust between the partners who invest energy and creativity in this valuable cooperation and work on the implementation of innovative solutions for active and healthy aging. Dubrovnik -Neretva county and regional development agency DUNEA are the first two Croatian partners who joined this network.
In accordance with the European Innovation partnership for innovations in active and healthy aging (EIP AHA), CORAL network contributes to improvement of sustainability and efficiency of social and health system through EU projects and works on strengthening and improvement of market competition for innovative products and services and even creating new possibilities for companies.
European sustainable energy week EUSEW took place during the 15th-18th of June in Brussels. The entire series of conferences dedicated to sustainable energy, gathered large number of energy experts, representatives of governments, regions, civil society and media.
Opening speeches were held by: Maroš Šefčovič, the vice president of European commission in charge of energy , Miguel Arias Cañete, european commissioner for climate actions and energy, Fatih Birol, chief economist of Global energy economics, Tord Lien, Norwegian minister of Petroleum and Energy and Jerzy Buzek, EU parliament representative.
This years manifestation was focused on the role of responsible consumers in the new energy community and movement of the EU towards its goals of sustainable energy in the areas like energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions.
