Dubrovnik–Neretva Region participated at the biggest European manifestation dedicated to regional cooperation – European Week of Regions and Cities, which was held from the 8th till the 11th of October, in the organization of European Committee of Regions and Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy - DG REGIO.
The representatives of Dubrovnik-Neretva Region and Regional agency DUNEA had the opportunity to visit the European Committee of Regions, the European Parliament and the European Commission. The delegation held the meeting with Permanent representative of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, Mato Škrabalo, in the Council of the European union, where they discussed about current programmes and opportunities available for local and regional administration.
Delegation of Dubrovnik–Neretva region as well participated at the 131st plenary session of the European Committee of region where the opinion on the subject of „The package of multiannual financial framework for period of 2021. – 2027.“ written by Nikola Dobroslavić, Dubrovnik-Neretva Region perfect, was adopted. Local and regional leaders oppose cuts to the EU’s cohesion policy and agriculture, and urge Member States and EU institutions to make new means available for cities and regions to invest in jobs, climate action and integration.
The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
